Relentless Trial Lawyer in Commercial Trucking Cases

Scott H. James is a founding partner of Cherry Johnson Siegmund James and a highly skilled trial lawyer who represents individuals and families in complex commercial trucking cases nationwide. His practice focuses on catastrophic personal injury and wrongful death cases, and he brings a tireless work ethic, sharp intellect, and unwavering determination to every case he handles.

Scott graduated from Baylor Law School as the highest-ranking student in his commencement class, earning his J.D. magna cum laude. He also earned an M.B.A. from the University of Texas at Dallas, where he again graduated as the highest-ranking student in his class, magna cum laude

In addition to his legal training, Scott co-founded an endurance sports company, helping lead the acquisition and development of multiple retail locations. This experience gives him practical insight into the business decisions, operational pressures, and risk management failures that often underlie commercial trucking cases.

Fighting with Purpose in High-Stakes Trucking Cases

Scott is part of a team currently handling cases across 25+ states, with a track record of more than $2 billion in verdicts and settlements. His experience includes high-stakes cases involving wrongful death, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injuries, and paralysis caused by commercial trucking collisions.

Driven by a deep sense of responsibility to the clients he represents, Scott approaches each case with purpose and determination to pursue justice relentlessly—no matter how powerful the opposition. Whether standing before a jury or guiding a client through the challenges that follow a life-altering collision, he is deeply involved in building each case and pursuing accountability for those affected by trucking company negligence.
