Allison Goertz Harkins is an attorney at Cherry Johnson Siegmund James who represents individuals and families in complex litigation, including commercial trucking and catastrophic injury cases. She brings a broad litigation background and a steady, practical approach to matters where the outcome can have a lasting impact on her clients’ lives.

Allison began her legal career representing insurance companies in hurricane-related litigation. That experience gives her valuable insight into how claims are evaluated and defended—perspective she now applies to help clients pursue accountability and fair outcomes. She has worked on a wide range of cases, including personal injury and general litigation matters, developing a well-rounded approach to complex disputes.

Education & Background

Allison earned her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, where she received certificates in Civil Law and International Law. She was recognized with law excellence awards in Torts, Successions, and Entertainment Law and participated in Loyola’s study abroad program in Vienna, Austria.

She earned her Bachelor of Science in Broadcast Journalism, magna cum laude, from Texas Christian University.

Allison is a member of the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Texas, the Louisiana State Bar Association, and the Waco-McLennan County Bar Association.

Nationwide Practice

As part of the Cherry Johnson Siegmund James team, Allison supports commercial trucking and catastrophic injury cases across jurisdictions, working with attorneys and local counsel to ensure coordinated case strategy and consistent client communication.

Outside the Office

Allison is married to Patrick, and they have two children, James and Maggie. She is actively involved in her community, including serving in leadership roles with St. Paul’s Episcopal School Board of Trustees and supporting organizations such as the Junior League, March of Dimes, and the Waco Festival on the Brazos. Outside of her practice, she enjoys volunteering, traveling, and cooking.
